It took only 3 weeks for our local Brush Turkey to build this monster nest – over 1 m high, 4 m diameter, raking up everything within 20 m. We thought it was a bit late in the season, but he probably knows what he is doing! It sits on top of an old mound that hasn’t been used for years, just north of Tailor St. Each morning, he opens the top and adjust the temperature (ideally 30-35 degrees C). There’s at least one female hanging around or on the nest, so we will probably have chicks wandering around the village in late May.
